So, we got a flip hand held camera for Declan's big birthday weekend and managed to capture some fun video for the Fourth of July weekend. I'm still testing this technology out, so bear with me! (WARNING: I was taking the video at night, so its kind of dark!)
Memorial Day weekend was great! I will say though ... the weather was HOT! So, in lieu of the crowded swimming pools, we opted for our newest discovery: The splash park.
I headed to Detroit this past weekend to celebrate my cousin Catherine's bridal shower. So the boys were left home with Daddy all day Saturday and Sunday.
Per usual, I took a LONG hiatus from our blog. To all our avid and dedicated readers: thank you for not losing hope that I would eventually post again! I have no other excuses except to say that, given our lives recently, blogging has been low on the priority list!
Matthew has given us a heck of a time with the potty! We've been attempting to train him since last summer and as of last month, he hadn't given us much to hope for. Alas! We shall persevere! Just this week, Matthew has managed to go "pee-pee" in the potty twice AND "poopy" TWICE! Yes folks ... you heard it here! Yet, with all this excitement, can you believe something evenmore amazing has happened?
So, as with every night, as I'm heading to bed I take one last look in on Matthew and Declan. Usually, I wait to hear that they're breathing and then cover them up and give them a kiss on their head. Though last night brought quite a cute surprise ...
As patrons of the Northeast and Midwest know, the snowstorm of 2010 has finally rolled through. I can't necessarily say that Indianapolis was pummeled with snow seeing as though Pittsburgh was ransacked with over 2 feet; however, we certainly got our fair share.
As many of you know, Declan was in the hospital this past week. We were in and out of the ER Tues. morning through early Thurs. morning before they finally admitted him to the pediatric unit.
If you would have asked me around noon today I would have said Declan was doing so much better. But, after a visit to the doctor's office and a quick check-up, I was sorely mistaken!
Matt and I had an early start to the morning today. Declan and Matthew have both been under the weather the last couple of days, but we've been especially worried about Declan.
Last Wednesday the boys and I set up shop in our Explorer and headed up to visit the Fergusons in Naperville (aka Pleasantville) and Deirdra downtown. I always LOVE making the trip up there because Matthew adores Griffin and Owen and frankly, turns into a grown-up little person!
Since I was a bit lagging in my posts last week (I was completely distracted by the phenomenal surroundings of Naperville) I'm catching up today! Griffin, Owen, Lauren and Deirdra opened their door to us so graciously and really gave us a great week!!
Two summers ago, Matt and I decided to take up a new hobby: reading together. While we were on vacation at Lost Lake -- a quiet cottage in the middle of nowhere in Michigan -- I grabbed the newest Dan Brown book from the Lodge's limited but sufficient library. While Matthew napped, he and I headed out to the lawn, sat in the hammock and read aloud. It was awesome! Just sitting there together, using our imaginations and having discussions on our latest theories on what was to happen in the upcoming chapters.
I normally never watch Regis and Kelly, but Matt (believe it or not) was watching it when he was home on Monday (for vacation). In passing I overheard a promotion for a Bautiful Baby Contest. Apparently their show is teaming up with Parenting Magazine to discover the next cover baby.
One of my main New Year's Resolution is to be ON TOP of posting blogs!! With the holiday rush and chaos of Matt's surprise 30th birthday plans, I've been seriously neglecting "Growing Up Lee"!
