LET IT SNOW!

As patrons of the Northeast and Midwest know, the snowstorm of 2010 has finally rolled through. I can't necessarily say that Indianapolis was pummeled with snow seeing as though Pittsburgh was ransacked with over 2 feet; however, we certainly got our fair share.

After our week from hell last week, Matthew and I were in serious need of outdoor exertion!! So, once Matt got home from work last night, little dude and I bundled up and headed for the driveway. I must admit, it was awfully cold out! The wind racing through us felt as though we were standing in thirty-below-zero conditions, but low and behold, it was probably more like twenty degrees.

We got out our shovels and began clearing the driveway. Which isn't saying much seeing as though there was a nice, thick layer of ice placed strategically below all the new, powdered snow. Matthew was a dear! He and I would switch off between mommy's shovel and Matthew's broom :) I made a mental note to not only get a kid-sized shovel, but a bigger, faster sled as well. Our dinky kid-sized sled DOES NOT cut it let me tell you! It may be good enough for our little Declan, but for our speed demon, its certainly lagging in the sledding regulation speed zones.

I managed to get Matthew down in the front lawn for a snow angel; however, within seconds of being in the deep "cold stuff" he was out. Sadly, he surrendered to the cold and snow prematurely, heading back inside with daddy and Declan while mommy returned to the task at hand: digging us out!
Though I HATE the cold, I must say the snow is rather nice :) It always makes me want to sit and snuggle on the couch with my three boys and have a nice cup of coffee (compliments of our new Kuerig - thanks to Dad and Mom Hickel)
To all of you in warm climates ... jealous yet?? I'm SOOO sure that you are :)
