Today was a momentous occasion for Matthew (and one for me too). Matthew will be attending Geist Christian's Child's Day Out program 2 days a week and today was his first official day. The school is only a block away from our house, so luckily for us, we can walk to and from school VERY easily!
Today, I must admit, I was a bit jittery. For the first time, my baby boy was not with me all day long (in terms of a normal weekday)! It was an interesting feeling. On one hand, I am SUPER excited for Matthew -- for the first time ever, he's expanding his comfort level to include people, places and kids outside what he already knows. Socially and educationally, its absolutely wonderful for him! On the other hand, I'm a bit sad (for me). Its the first "taste" of standing back and watching Matthew grow up ... doing things independently of me or Matt.
I always chuckle when people say "enjoy every minute ... they grow up so fast." While you're in the moment you don't realize just how quickly days, weeks and months go by. Now, as Matthew heads into his 3rd year of life, I'm realizing that these years with him have gone by faster than a blink of an eye! As much as I don't want to panic, I'm starting to worry that each passing year will go faster and faster! Needless to say, I'd love to have a pause button on life so that I can freeze frame special moments to make them last longer. Today would have surely been one of those "pause" moments!
Check out Matthew's trip to school ... I'll be posting pics ASAP!
