DECLAN'S BAPTISM

Our little guy was -- as Matt says -- saved yesterday! Yes, amongst our families and our 2 loving godmothers, Aunt D and Aunt Maureen, Declan was baptized! He was an absolute angel throughout the ceremony.

Though you see many, many, many different baptismal outfits, Declan was christened in a very special baptismal gown. When my Nanna was pregnant, my great-grandma Dorothy was creating a beautiful baptismal gown for her soon-to-be grandchild. Well, unbeknownst to my Nanna, she was having twins! When my mom and Aunt Jackie were born, my great-grandma had to make another matching gown in less than 2 weeks! Back in those days, christenings occurred shortly after birth, so she worked overtime to get both the gowns ready.

Needless to say, it is now a family heirloom. To date, Declan was the 41st family member to be baptized in it (Matthew Jr. and I were both baptized in it too!!

We've had a BUSY couple of weeks ... Aunt Jacq and Uncle Luke were married 2 weeks ago. It was absolutely beautiful! I promise to post pics of all our fall events soon! Today, I'm recovering from mouth surgery, so it probably won't be today :)

  1. What a sweet heirloom! Your family always warms my heart. I can see the thoughtfulness runs deep.
